New City, New Me

Hi Lovely Readers,

Welcome to my new site! I still have a lot to do but I missed all of you so I couldn’t wait to get a post out.

Where do I start? As many of you know, I relocated to my favourite city in South Africa – Cape Town. It was such a spur of the moment decision that I haven’t really had the time to process everything. One week ago I landed in the mother city on my journey of independence…

Why I moved?

As much as I love Durban – nothing beats our weather and beach, I felt I needed a change of scenery. They say change is as good as a holiday and I couldn’t think of a better change to make. Born and bred in Durban; I’ve always felt I needed to move at least once in my life. I never expected it to happen now, however I am grateful for the opportunity! I’m a dreamer and when I dream of something I work my hardest to make it a reality, thus making the choice to come here meant leaving behind my family and friends and starting afresh in a new city by myself. I knew it wouldn’t be easy but it was a risk I was willing to take, especially coming in this weather! I already had a few days where I felt homesick and even teared a bit! I think it’s the responsibility of house work and cooking. It really does become overwhelming!

Work – wise, I am in the city of fashion and blogging which is the primary reason I chose to move to Cape Town. I’m so grateful for the few friends I have here and their willingness to help me! I am here to pursue makeup and styling opportunities as well as grow my brand.

Why the new blog?

I want my blog to represent the new me. I’ve evolved since my first post so I want this blog to document the ‘grown up’ me. I’m still making changes to the blog, which will happen over the next few weeks (or when I figure out what I’m doing). I moved over from Blogger so I’m not used to the new settings and themes. Please bear with me as I figure out what I’m doing.

Despite the few tears and the mountain of house
work (until I get some help), Cape Town has been very good to me. I’m really looking forward to what this beautiful city has in store for me.DSC_2791
